  • Swamimalai Hills

Swami Malai hills are the hills in the form of cake with a strong base at the bottom and high peak of the hills just tend to touch the sky. The highest of its peak is about 4338 meters from the ground level and people love climbing the great heights at a stretch.

There are several other peaks in the neighbourhood like Javadi hills, Pallamathi hills and the like which are easier to climb and thereby enjoy the beauty of the nature from a distance. Climbing does consume time, so if one starts climbing the mountain early in the morning then one can enjoy the beauty of the mountain all day long with all the different climatic conditions throughout the day Possibly the highest peak around and the best place to go on a lovely trek is Swamimalai. It's an easy trek along a muddy path starting from the eastern side of the lake, which is about 3 Km long and pretty scenic too. Most visitors to Yelagiri Hills, who have trekking in mind, often climb up Swamimalai. Make sure you have enough water and light snacks before you setoff up the hillock.
