IHR Blog - Southern Sojourn: - By India Hotel Review.com
The lake surrounded by lush green hills, is the only natural lake amongst all the hill stations of south. It offers boat rides to idle away the time absorbing the moment. Apart from that there are few good roadside eateries around the lake offering giant sized green chilles friend in gram flour.

Ripples on the brain::Yelagiri - Part II: - By Rkarthik.Blogsome.com
I think the main problem with non-mainstream tourist places in and around Chennai (admittedly not many) these days is alcoholism. Actually I have no problem with people consuming alcohol if they weren’t such a nuisance to others.

Yelagiri Hills Trek - Venkatarangan TNC: - By Vishwak.com
The experience was wonderful and relaxing. The trek route was peaceful, clean and green, absolute silence almost all the way in the forest - you can hear only the occasional bird chirps (see the video below), that’s all. It took us less than 2:30 Hours to complete the trek & return.

Traveloque: Yelagiri - an abrupt trip: - By Travellok.Blogspot.com
As I got off the bus, I saw bonfires, a rare sight in Tamil Nadu and there was a slight chill in the air and that too, before even getting ont to the hill. The first bus to yelagiri would be at 530 am

Dream Travels: The Serenity of Yelagiri: - By Dream Nature Travel.Blogspot.com
I was looking for a peaceful, silent single day trip from Bangalore for quite a long time. The weekend getaways around Bangalore has the problem of crowd. I used to hate to see crowd in the Nature's beauty.

    Apu’s World » Yelagiri Hills: - By Apusworld.com
I wonder how long it will be before Yelagiri catches up. Size should be a deterrent - the place is really too small, to accomodate a large number of people. (I recognise that this is travel snobbery - everyone wants the best places for

    Trekking @ Yelagiri - By TravelingBeats.com
We started trekking yelagiri at 12.30. There is a hill called Swamy malai in Yelagiri. WOW!! What a place is this!!! Very nice. We all were so tired when climbing up.

Vishful Thinking...: Yelagiri trip photos: - By vishfulthinking.com
The name Yelagiri comes from the words "Yela(m)" (meaning auction in Tamil) and "Giri" (referring to a movie starring Action King Arjun).

My Travelogue: Yelagiri: - By Timelessodyssey Blogspot.com
Nuthin much to do while at Yelagiri .... You can chill out at a resort there or try to sweat it out climbing Swamimalai (the highest peak there), take a boat ride on the Punganoor lake and catch Jaladamparai waterfalls on the way back. (Jaladhamparai is located about 16 kms from Tiruppatur on road .... but there apparently is a trek route from Yelagiri to this place!)

    Yelagiri Travelog I - By Chennaispot.com
Yelagiri is a small hill station near Tirupattur / Vaniyambadi in Vellore District, about 150 Kms from Bangalore and 220 from Chennai. Not very well known, with very little to see or do, it is nevertheless getting increasing crowd from Bangalore and Chennai due to it being just off the 4 lane Golden Quadrilateral route. Quite a few hotels have come up in recent years although no fancy ones.

Yelagiri is small hill station in Tamil Nadu, which not throng by tourists much yet. Though the Tamil Nadu government is making a lot of noise to promote Yelagiri as a hill station, it has a lot to catch up.

Bird Ecology Study Group - By Rufous Babbler sighted at Yelagiri Hills, Tamil Nadu, India
"After sometime I spotted a group of five or six Rufous Babblers. These birds are endemic to Western Ghats and have been spotted in Shevaroy and Palani Hills, Tamil Nadu. But they is no record of them in Yelagiri hills which is part of the Eastern Ghats. I think this is a new observation and so wish to share it with the BESG."

They call it ‘The old man’s Ooty’. It gains this reputation from the low-cost of living that it still preserves. Commercialisation has still not dawned upon this location.

Trekking at Yelagiri Hills - Perumadu Water falls - Tourist Guide to Elagiri: - By Hubpages.com
We started from the Tourist Information Center at Athanavur (Yelagiri) at about 7:45 AM and drove by car up to the village Puthur (about 8 km). After parking the car there, we started trekking at about 8:10 AM. As no tourists reportedly came forward to take this arduous trekking route in the last few months, Mr Sivalingam came forearmed with a sickle to clear any wild growth along the trekking route.

Trip to Yelagiri - By Pappus Peregrine.Blogspot.com
We started at 6:30, saturday morning. The drive till Hosur was traffic free and it was drizzling a bit to give that "extra" scenic effect. We had breakfast in Hosur and started off on our trip.

Tmergence of Yelagiri As Paragliding Hotspot | Paragliding Freedom Blog: - By Paraglidingbooks.com
Yelagiri cocooned between Bangalore and Chennai in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu would have continued to remain with the tag of "Poor Man’s Ooty", but not any longer.
